The Village has received a few inquiries from residents asking if Halloween will take place this year in light of COVID-19 restrictions. Halloween is not a village sponsored event, it is a national recognized Holiday. The Village only suggests hours, which is always 6 PM to 8 PM on the day of Halloween. The Village has no authority to cancel Halloween or restrict the free movement of its residents.
However, residents who choose to participate should adhere to any public health recommendations from the Branch, St. Joseph and Hillsdale County Health Department. Any household with a positive case should not participate, as well as individuals with symptoms should not participate.
Due to CDC recommendations during the last Quincy Chamber of Commerce meeting held on September 23rd, it was agreed upon that the annual Halloween Parade and Safe Trick or Treat would be cancelled for 2020.
Stay safe, wear the perfect mask to go with your costume, and enjoy Trick or Treating!
